BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Bowling green police are looking for whoever is responsible for stealing batteries out of school buses over the weekend.
Officers say that over the past week and a half, over 18 batteries have been taken from nine buses parked at the Bowling Green Department of Education lot, located at 12th Avenue and Kentucky Street.
Authorities are saying that the lots are likely being targeted for the thefts because several batteries can be stolen from one spot.
The police department is still trying to determine what the person is doing with the stolen batteries. They say that whoever is stealing them may be taking the batteries to salvage yards.
