BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Some local elementary school students have turned old milk and juice cartons into a lot of money.
Briarwood Elementary’s entry into the Made by Milk Carton Construction Contest titled “Run for the Roses” received $1,000.
The contest invites students nationwide to build their creations using empty milk or juice cartons.
"The Made By Milk® Carton Construction Contest gives students around the country the opportunity to express their creativity while also learning about the benefits of paper gable-top cartons," said Katie Simmons, marketing manager for Evergreen Packaging. "We'd like to congratulate each student who participated in this year's contest, as this year's entries were more impressive than ever before."
Briarwood students used 847 cartons, hot glue, and acrylic paint to create the artwork.
