J. P. Raines and his classmates enjoy playtime at the Renshaw Early Childhood Development Center. It's all part of a program to make learning fun while helping children like J. P. to improve their social, speech and other skills.

Ericka Orndorff works for the Center.

"We worked really hard on his language and communication skills. Those are really coming along. He's starting to talk in three or four word sentences which is great compared to where we started."

J. P. splits time between his public school class and the Big Red School at Renshaw.

Abby Raines is J.P.'s mom.

"I think the biggest thing with the Big Red School and why I continue to pull him out one day from pre-school in Franklin is that the setting is smaller. There are fewer children to one teacher.”

That special attention is due in part to the funding which Renshaw receives from the Crusade.
