The Western Kentucky University homecoming weekend got started Thursday with the Chili and Cheese Luncheon followed by a pep rally.

Hilltoppers football coach Mike Sanford said a few words to kick-start the event along with Western Kentucky University (WKU) President Tim Caboni.

The luncheon at 6.4.3 Sports Bar and Grill was presented by the WKU Alumni Association.

Chili was served and the homecoming court was presented.

All of the proceeds went to Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky.

Homecoming events continue through the weekend with a parade near the Downing Student Union and a concert in Circus Square Park Friday, along with the Festival of Friends Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday before the game at 6:30 p.m.
