LEXINGTON, Ky. (WBKO) --- A controversial tip-in resulted in 19th-ranked LSU snapping 5th-ranked Kentucky's 17-game winning streak at Rupp Arena, resulting in the Tigers edging the Wildcats 73-71 in college basketball Tuesday at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

The Tigers' Kavell Bigby-Williams tipped in a missed shot by LSU teammate Skylar Mays as time expired. Replays showed the tip-in came before the buzzer but Bigby-Williams appeared to have committed offensive basket interference, Officials could only review if the tip-in came before the buzzer. The possible basket interference is not considered reviewable by video review.

PJ Washington the Wildcats with 20 points and nine rebounds. Keldon Johnson added 16 points for Kentucky.

The loss drops the Wildcats' record to 9-2 in the SEC and 20-4. Kentucky hosts number-one Tennessee Saturday night at seven p.m. at Rupp Arena.
