Dumpster diving and drugs lead to the arrest of a Logan County woman

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- According to the Logan County Sheriff's Department, a Lewisburg woman was charged with drug possession early Wednesday morning.

Officials say just after 1:00 a.m., they made contact with a suspicious vehicle behind Tokyo on Sam Walton Drive.

Officials say the vehicle had two people in the car, who told police that they were dumpster diving.

Brittany Benton of Lewisburg allowed officials to search the car.

After searching the car, officials found meth and a pipe in a purse that belonged to Benton.

Benton is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
