EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- UPDATE:

KSP Master Trooper Jeremy Hodges has said the next of kin have been notified of the deceased.

The driver and the passenger of the car were found dead at the scene.

The driver, James Arms of Park City, and the passenger, Lavonda Flannery of Rocky Hill, died in the accident.

The driver of the semi-truck, Stefanee Dawkins of Scottsdale, Georgia, was uninjured.

KSP says Arms was driving and left the right shoulder of the road briefly when driving southbound on the US 31W. He over-corrected when returning to the road, rotating across the centerline and into the path of Dawkins. Her semi then struck the passenger side of the car.

KSP says Arms and Flannery were not wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
