Fatal crash in East Daviess County

Officials continue to investigate a fatal accident in East Daviess County involving a pickup and a tractor.

Kentucky State Police say that according to a preliminary investigation, Donald J. Gibson (38) of Hardinsburg was driving eastbound on US 60 in his 2015 Chevrolet Pickup truck.

Officials say Eric D. Norton (50) of Tullahoma, TN was also driving on US 60 westbound in a 2003 Kenworth tractor-trailer.

Police say that for unknown reasons, Gibson crossed the centerline and hit Norton's tractor.

Both vehicles caught fire and were destroyed. or. Both vehicles caught fire and burned most of both vehicles.

Norton was taken to Owensboro Health and was listed in critical condition.

Gibson was pronounced dead on-scene by Daviess County Coroner’s Office.

US 60 was shut down for over 4 hours.
