BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- According to J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels & Crematory, former Warren County Clerk Dorothy "Dot" Owens passed away at Hospice of Southern Kentucky on Wednesday.

Owens served as Warren County Clerk for several years until current Warren County Clerk Lynette Yates took office in 2014.
Prior to her years as Warren County Clerk, Owens worked in the clerk's office for decades.
J.C. Kirby & Son confirms their Lover's Lane Chapel is handling funeral arrangements. They say an obituary with more information will be released Thursday.
Owens's obituary is below:
"Dorothy “Dot” Owens, 77 of Bowling Green died at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky Wednesday, March 6, 2019. The Bowling Green native was the daughter of the late Louie Adamson, and Beatrice Eddy Adamson. Dot was a member of First Baptist Church. She served as the Warren County Clerk for 8 years and worked in the Clerk’s office for almost four decades. She was also a member of the American Business Women, Operation Pride Board of Directors and a member of Democrat Women’s Group. Survivors include two daughters; Debi Whitlow, (Ken Downs) of Danville, KY, Kim Wilks of Murfreesboro, TN a son; Robert Owens of Bowling Green, KY, four grandsons; Brad Wilks, (Kayla) of Portland, TN, Ross Wilks (Lilibeth) of Miami, FL, Alec Wilks (Stormi) of Bowling Green and Brandon Whitlow of Bowling Green, and a great grandson; Ivan Whitlow of Auburn, KY. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Lamar Owens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2018 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery #2. No formal service is scheduled."
