Franklin-Simpson wins second straight KHSAA Football State Championship

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats have repeated as state champions after defeating Johnson Central by a score of 14-12 Saturday in Lexington.

Scoring kicked off with a long TD run from Tre Bass. Bass would add another touchdown later.

The Johnson Central Eagles failed to convert on a 2-point conversion with 57 seconds left.

The Wildcats defeated Johnson Central in last year's championship matchup by a score of 35-21.

Head Coach Doug Preston and the Wildcats finish the year with only one loss.
