GREENSBURG, Ky. (WBKO) -- Kentucky State Police and the Green County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a fight complaint on Ralph Vaughn Rd on Saturday afternoon, one mile east of Greensburg.

Once they got to the home, officials say they found 49-year-old Gregory Richard unresponsive with a severe head injury.

State police say through the investigation, they found Richard was involved in a fight with his step son, 31-year-old Robert Cundiff of Greensburg.

Kentucky State Police add that during the altercation Cundiff attacked his stepfather with a hammer.

KSP adds that after the attack, Cundiff put Gregory who was still alive under a crawl space under the house.

Officials say Gregory later died at the hospital from his injuries.

A detective arrested and charged Cundiff with murder and tampering with physical evidence.
