UPDATE: Hart County inmate escapee caught

Officials have confirmed that Cody Dubree has been caught and is being taken back to the Hart County Jail.

At 4:27 p.m.,Kentucky State Troopers located the 1986 Nissan pickup being driven by Cody Dubree on Mayhew Road in Barren County. A vehicle pursuit ended in a cornfield near a wooded area on the Barren and Edmonson County Line.

A foot pursuit followed, resulting in the capture of Dubree. He now faces the following additional charges:

Theft by Unlawful Taking (automobile) $500 or more but under $10,000
Escape, 2nd Degree
Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot)
Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree (Police Officer)
Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree
Driving DUI Suspended License, 2nd Offense
Reckless Driving
Failure to Wear Seat Belts
Resisting Arrest


The Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call today at 11:54 am from the Hart County Jail requesting assistance in locating an escaped inmate who had fled from a work detail. According to jail staff, inmate Cody D. Dubree gained access to a beige 1986 Nissan Pickup without consent, and had left property located on Bluegrass Ave in Hart County.

Cody Dubree is a white male, 5’9” and approximately 180 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown hair and was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a gray hat. Police say he may be driving the stolen beige 1986 Nissan Pickup, bearing Kentucky license plate 077 VHG. The truck was last seen near the area of 100 Bluegrass Ave in Horse Cave.
