BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Update: Saturday, January 11

Saturday morning the Medical Center and WBKO Kicked off the new year with ways to keep you healthy in 2020.

"Health related vendors that come in and share information with participants that come or they provide a health screen and we're also drawing for door prizes as well throughout the morning and everything is free," said Doris Thomas, the Vice President of the Med Center Health Foundation.

"Today at the expo we're giving information on all the procedures we perform. I'm part of a group that contains two vascular surgeons and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We do the full spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery. To include heart valve replacement and repair, to include bypass surgery, to include removal of lung cancers and any other masses in the chest," said Dr. Paul Moore with the Medical Center.

"We just enjoy coming out every year and checking out the different things that can keep our family healthy and learn different techniques and things to help us in our time of need," said event participant, Danielle Rae.

"Well I think it's a really wonderful thing they do for the community. What we've found is there's a lot of good information and people have time to answer your questions and I appreciate it," said Lounell Rayner.

"WBKO loves partnering with the medical center for this event every year, and we just love being out in the community and helping everyone," said Shenna Markham with WBKO.

The event was made completely free for the public..
