BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- High temperatures and humidity have put a damper on New Year's Eve ice skating plans at the SoKY Ice Rink.
The rink was supposed to be open all day and into the new year, but because of a "substantial amount of sitting water," Warren County Parks Director Chris Kummer says conditions have deteriorated to the point where it is no longer safe to skate on the ice.
Kummer is hopeful the ice will freeze over again throughout Monday night and into Tuesday morning. He plans to have the rink open from 1 p.m. through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Kummer wants to apologize for any inconvenience for people who made the ice rink part of their plans for the night.
