MORGANTOWN, Ky. (WBKO) -- When we hear the name "Hillbilly Jim" most of us think of the former professional wrestler from Bowling Green. But Jim Morris, his real name, is also an accomplished blues guitarist.
In fact, he's a member of the Kentucky Blues Society, which also features Kenny Lee and Lee Hammer.
Tuesday they took their Blues in Schools program to Butler County Middle and High Schools to teach the kids just what the blues are all about.
"Ya'know I describe the blues that's really somethin' that's deep down in your soul," says Morris. "It's somethin' that you kind of feel in primal. You don't really have to explain it because we all have it in us whether we know it or not."
Kenny Lee says the first blues recording ever made was by a Kentuckian.
During the session the trio gave the kids harmonicas and taught them how to play them. SKyPAC helped sponsor the workshop.
