HISEVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- What would your school do if your students had the highest test scores in the county? In Barren County they gave them a parade!
Area business owners got together to show their support of Hiseville Elementary, not just for the best test scores in the county last year, but for all the success the students have had over the past 20 years.
"This was really about the success of our elementary school," said Hiseville Elementary Principal Shari Alexander, "and that spirit of excellence that exists at Hiseville." Principal Alexander says today's parade was to celebrate the "spirit of community" in small rural elementary schools like Hiseville.
The Louisville Courier-Journal did the ranking that showed Hiseville with the highest scores of any elementary school in Barren County last year.
