BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Historic trolley rides are coming back to Bowling Green this Friday, Dec. 7.
The concept was originally tested out earlier this year, and more than 750 people took advantage of the opportunity.
Now, the trolley is coming back for another round of free rides through parts of campus and downtown Bowling Green. It's part of the city's Open House and Bowling Green's annual Downtown Lights Up event.
All of the trolley rides begin and end on College Street near the parking structure, running from 1:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Each ride is expected to last 15-20 minutes.
There will also be Christmas carolers on board setting the mood for the holiday season. The Christmas lights around downtown Bowling Green are expected to be turned on Friday night.
Those involved with the trolley say they are encouraged that after this second test run, some type of permanent trolley experience can be introduced in Bowling Green by Spring 2019.
Local businesses downtown are also passing out "trolley bucks certificates" that let people know about the upcoming trolley rides. These "trolley bucks" are not required to take a ride on the trolley, and all rides will be free for the public.
