BOWLING GREEN, KY. (WBKO) --- Sunday was the final day of outdoor skating at the SoKY Ice Rink until the next winter season.
Since its opening on Friday, November 16, 2018, thousands of skaters made their way on to the 6,000 square foot rink in downtown Bowling Green.
Throughout the season, the SoKY Ice Rink featured several themed nights to get people in the holiday spirit.
Princess night, superhero night, ugly sweater night, and a visit from Santa himself were just some of the events throughout the 2018-2019 season.
"Overall, compared to the last two years, we've had about the same amount of skaters, made about the same amount of money. Weather always determines if we have big crowds or small crowds, so we've had some really warm days like today where we get a big crowd," said Leah Spurlin, Rink Manager.
The rink only closed once throughout the season due to warm temperatures, which happened to be on New Year's Eve.
Warren County Parks and Recreation is excited and already planning for their reopening next holiday season.
