BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The 6th annual IdeaFestival kicks off Wednesday morning in Bowling Green, welcoming students from 17 counties in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Over 750 middle school and high school students will gather at Van Meter Auditorium and Downing Student Union on WKU's campus.

This year's festival is hosted by The Center of Gifted Studies at WKU, with the theme being, "The Future is Now".

A schedule of events have been planned for the students including guest speakers and short performances.

Organizers tell us kids will be encouraged to think "outside the box" using science, technology, creative thinking, and the arts.
