Ky. (WBKO) -- Junior Achievement hosted its 3rd annual event for JA Girls on Wednesday.

JA Girls members from three different counties attended the "JA It's My Future" event where they met women who taught them different skillsets.

"We are partnering up with local female community members and they volunteer and they are teaching about 220 middle school girls about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, college, and career readiness, to give them some of those real-world skills," said Abby Phillips, Junior Achievement's director of education.

The initiative is aimed at preparing these young women for the workforce or college by improving their self-confidence and empowering them to go for their dreams.
