A Mount Sterling man was killed Wednesday morning after a rollover collision on I-65 South.

Kentucky State Police responded to the accident at 7:23 a.m. near the 41 mile marker in Warren County.

Police say Elzie J. Prater, of Jeffersonville, was in the right lane behind a black SUV when it suddenly stopped causing Prater to swerve right to avoid a collision. The car went off the should of the roadway and up an embankment, rolling several times.

A passenger, Elzie T. Prater, the driver's father, was reclined in the passenger seat with a seatbelt on, and was ejected during the rollover. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner.

Elzie J. Prater was treated and released.

No further details were available for release.
