Police: Man accidentally kills himself while unloading a pistol

HENDERSON, Ky. (WBKO) -- Kentucky State Police troopers are investigating the death of a Henderson County man in the 2200 block of Holloway Lane in Henderson.

Authorities were notified of a shooting around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 3.

They say 75-year-old Paul R. Sutton called 911, stating he had accidentally shot himself in the abdomen.

KSP says Sutton was transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson via ambulance before being transferred to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville where he died from his injury.

Troopers believe Sutton accidentally shot himself while unloading a pistol.

The investigation is continuing and foul play is not suspected.
