KSP investigating fatal Hopkinsville fire

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fire at a a Hopkinsville apartment that has resulted in two deaths.

KSP received the call on Tuesday regarding a fire at Woodland Heights Apartments.

When first responders arrived, they were able to enter the apartment where they found David Keys of New Albany, Indiana and Andra Pool of Hopkinsville.

Keys was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Christian County coroner. Pool was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased on Thursday.

An autopsy confirmed Keys died of smoke inhalation.

A KSP Arson Investigator was able to determine the fire started in the apartment around the stove.
