FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) -- A Kentucky bill to outlaw abortion is on its way to the floor of the House.
House Bill 148 would outlaw abortion in most cases automatically if Roe v. Wade were ever to be overturned.
One of the bill's sponsors, Rep. Joseph Fischer, (R) - Ft. Thomas, said it would ban abortion from the earliest stage of pregnancy except when required to save the mother’s life or at times where abortion occurs unintentionally during medical treatment of the mother.
Fischer said North Dakota, South Dakota, Mississippi and Louisiana have passed similar laws.
Opponents say the bill doesn't make exceptions for victims of rape, incest or domestic violence.
The bill now goes in front of the full House for consideration.
