Lady Toppers moving past loss to No. Louisville; heading west to face Oklahoma

No. 5 Louisville spoiled the head coaching debut for Western Kentucky women's basketball coach Greg Collins in a 102-80 win Tuesday in E.A. Diddle Arena.

Four Lady Toppers scored in double figures, led by Alexis Brewer (22) and Dee Givens (18), but reigning ACC Player of the Year Asia Durr's 33 points proved too much for host WKU.

Collins goes for win number one as the Lady Toppers are on the road to face Oklahoma 7 p.m. Friday inside the Lloyd Noble Center.

"This isn't Nascar. This is not the Daytona 500. This is Division I basketball and it's not March," Collins said. "We're trying to make sure we're building and growing and getting better as a team each game, and that's our goal."

This marks the second meeting in program history between the two programs, with the first contest dating back to the 1985-86 season.

The message after Tuesday's loss to the Lady Cardinals is to move past it.

"We can't dwell on this or we'll go to Oklahoma and not play as well as we should," Brewer said. "We have to learn from this and go to Oklahoma and change our mistakes."

Friday's matchup will be carried on Fox Sports Southwest and the Sooner Sports Network, with a free live WKU radio stream also available on C-USA TV.
