A complaint received by a Grayson County animal control officer leads to an arrest of a Leitchfield man for suspicion of cruelty to animals.

The animal control officer went to the home of Greg Rigdon on Oct. 17 and saw several animals that were in obvious distress and in need of veterinary care.

The next day four beagle pups were seized and taken to the animal shelter. Veterinarians thought one might need to be put down, but now the pup looks like it will survive.

The beagle is being fostered by a family and is getting better each day.

Rigdon was charged with cruelty to animals, 2nd degree with other charges pending.
