BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- We all learned about the never-ending number that represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter -- 3.14.
Well, Thursday is Pi Day -- the date itself being 3/14 -- and local restaurants are celebrating.
Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is celebrating Pi Day by offering a buy-one get-one-free pot pie deal.
Customers who order the entree are given a second one to take home and cook at a later time.
Brittany Bryant, the restaurant's manager, said, "We have seen a lot today for Pi Day. We've seen a big pickup in business."
Also, Pi Day is being celebrated by Blaze Pizza with $3.14 pizza pies.
The line was out the door earlier in the day as people were waiting to order.
The celebration required a lot of preparation with all hands on deck.
"A lot of prep work went into this and we've been folding boxes all week," said Jennifer Bowles, the restaurant's general manager.
Bowels said on a normal workday, they only have nine or ten crew members but Thursday brought in 16 for day shift, with 18 for the evening.
Blaze also offered a coupon for your next purchase for customers who came at dinner time.
