Chapel Tinius, a Bowling Green native, was crowned Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen on Saturday, June 25 in Louisville.
Young ladies between the ages of 13 to 17 from across Kentucky competed at the Kentucky Center for the Arts located in downtown Louisville from June 24th -25th. Each contestant went through two preliminary phases of competition. On Saturday night, the Top 11 scorers participated in the final competition where Chapel Tinius was crowned Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen.
Chapel is the daughter of James and Dana Tinius and a student at Bowling Green High School.
Chapel’s platform is Operation Gratitude: US Military and Veteran Appreciation. She was recently appointed to the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs Youth Council and serves as a Kentucky Ambassador for Operation Gratitude.
Chapel has played the fiddle for 13 years and has recorded two group albums and one solo album.
Chapel will compete for Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant in Orlando, Florida from August 2-6.
