BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Make the Season Bright is an annual event that is raising thousands of dollars to benefit organizations within Med Center Health in Bowling Green.
Over the past few weeks people have donated money to have a Christmas tree light dedicated to remembering a loved one on the tree outside of the Med Center.
On Monday, the tree was lit by the power of kids' voices, honoring friends and family members with each illuminated bulb.
Each light cost a donation of $10-100 and helps the Med Center raise money for the Hospitality House, a resource for patients and their families.
"The hospitality house provides a place to stay who are from out of towns or have loved ones in the hospital that need a place to stay to be close by, it's just right next to campus and it takes a lot of funding for that, so we make these efforts to try to help so that people who have to stay don't have to pay anything," said Tony Witty, who helps organize Make the Season Bright.
Over $70,000 has been raised thus far, but you can still donate by going to lightupthetree.org
