MILLWOOD, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Grayson County Sheriff's Department says deputies received information on the location of a suspect wanted out of Cumberland County on outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Deputies say they obtained information which showed disturbing images of the suspect sodomizing and sexually abusing an infant female child.

On Sunday, December 3, deputies, along with Kentucky State Police Troopers, arrived at a house on Church St. in Millwood, Kentucky to serve the arrest warrant.

Upon arrival, deputies say they encountered the suspect, 36 year-old James D. Armes lying on the couch. Officials say Armes refused to comply with officer’s commands of placing his hands behind his back and had to be wrestled to the ground and would not show his right hand and actually reached for his waistband during the struggle.

Deputies say Armes was eventually placed into custody without further incident.

Kentucky State Police charged Armes with Menacing and Resisting Arrest. Based on the evidence that sheriff's deputies received, they say they charged Armes with 2 counts of Sodomy 1st Degree-Victim under 12 years of age, 2 counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree- Victim under 12 years of age, and 4 counts of Possession/View Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By Minor, all felony offenses.

Officials say Armes is currently being held in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $100,000.00 cash bond.

According to Grayson County deputies, this investigation is ongoing and additional felony sex abuse charges are likely. Officials say James D. Armes is currently listed as a KY sex offender for crimes not related to these offenses.
