HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision between a tractor-trailer and a farm tractor on US 68 near Hopkinsville.

The investigation determined that 43-year-old Jerry Williams, of Summertown, TN, was operating the farm tractor and pulling a trailer loaded with wooden pallets.

Williams was traveling westbound in the right lane when 40-year-old Jason Stahl, of Glasgow, came upon Williams from behind and attempted to merge into the left lane.

Stahl saw a motorcycle in the left lane and attempted to avoid hitting the farm tractor by braking, but was unsuccessful, rear-ending the tractor’s trailer.

Williams was ejected with the farm tractor coming to rest on its side in a ditch.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s office.

Stahl was not injured.
