Man lands behind bars on rape charge after allegedly having sexual relationship with teenager

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- One man is behind bars with a rape charge after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a victim under 16-years-old in Warren County.

According to Bowling Green Police, an investigation revealed 45-year-old Richard Gilliland was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female.

Authorities say, Gilliland was found at his place of employment and was interviewed. They say he later confessed to meeting the teenager online.

Police say Gilliland says he drove to Tennessee and picked up the juvenile.

Officials add that on two separate occasions Gilliland admitted to having intercourse with the teenager in the sleeper cab of his truck while it was parked at his place of employment on Griffin Drive in Bowling Green.

Gilliland was arrested and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail. He is facing a rape third degree charge.
