Multi-county pursuit ends in arrest

Glasgow, Ky. (WBKO) -- Officials arrested a Scottsville man after a pursuit that ran through several counties on Saturday night.

According to the Glasgow Police Department, officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle.

They say the vehicle failed to stop and was traveling southbound on Hwy 31 in a reckless manner, disregarding all traffic signals.

Barren County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Ford attempted to stop the vehicle by deploying stop sticks, but the vehicle attempted to run over him. Officials say the deputy was able to get out of the way.

Officials say the vehicle then continued south into Allen County where Sgt. Ashley Jones attempted to deploy stop sticks and again the vehicle attempted to run over her. They say she was also able to get out of the way.

The vehicle then made a right turn and traveled north into Warren County at a high rate of speed.

According to Glasgow Police, at that time the Warren County Sheriff's Department, Bowling Green Police Department, and Kentucky State Police joined in the pursuit .

The pursuit came to a end on I-65 in Simpson County.

According to the Glasgow Police Department, officers located methamphetamine and syringes inside of the vehicle. The driver told officers that he knew he had active warrants for his arrest, and that's why he didn't stop.

Chase Webb of Scottsville was arrested and charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Failure To Or Improper Signal, Disregarding Stop Sign, Fleeing Evading Police 1st, Failure To Wear Seat Belt, Failure Maintain Insurance, Criminal Mischief 2nd, Murder (Attempted) Police Officer, Wanton Endangerment 1st, Oper MTR Vehicle U/Influ Alc/ Drugs 3rd Offense, Driving DUI Suspended License 1st, Possession Control Substance 1st Degree 3rd Offense (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia, Display Or Poss Of Cancelled Or Fictitious Operator License.

The arrest was made by Officer Wesley Hicks, assisted by Sgt. Jones, Officer Dubarry, Barren County Sheriff Dept., KSP, Warren County Sheriff Dept., Bowling Green Police Dept., Allen County Sheriff Dept., Scottsville Police Dept.
