One dead following Logan County crash

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO)-- Sunday afternoon, the Logan County Sheriff's Office was called out to a 2-car crash on Coopertown Quality Road.

They found that 20-year-old Makayla Williams of Lewisburg had been driving her car west on Coopertown, when she lost control and hit a van heading east head-on.

The van was driven by 79-year-old Alfred Hubbs of Russellville, and 75-year-old Barbra Hubbs was in the front seat.

Barbra Hubbs sustained serious injuries and was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Alfred Hubbs was also injured and taken to Logan Memorial Hospital in an ambulance.

Makayla J. Williams was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown from her car. She was pronounced dead on the scene by the Logan County Coroner, Mary Givens.

The investigation is ongoing.
