According to Northpoint Training Center, a medium-security prison in Boyle County, activities at the prison, including visits, have been canceled until further notice.
Those with the prison say it's all due to a power outage.
They say on Saturday, March 31 around 3:00 p.m. electrical wiring on an electric pole outside of the prison caught fire and caused the outage. The main generator also failed.
Kentucky Utilities, electrical contractors, and Northpoint Training Center maintenance staff have been on site throughout the night to resolve the issue.
The prison will return to normal operations once power is restored.
