BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) --- On Tuesday, students at Barren County High School had the opportunity to listen to a speech by Vince Bertram, the President and CEO of Project Lead the Way.
The nonprofit hopes to provide a transformative learning experience through its computer science, biomedical science and engineering programs implemented at over 11,000 schools across America.
Barren County Schools Superintendent Bo Matthews is excited about the collaboration.
"To have him come here and learn the Barren County story, how we're implementing Project Lead the Way from pre-school all the way through 12th grade - really exciting day for us," said Matthews.
Bertram wants students to always be thinking ahead.
"I really want to encourage students to think about their future and not just think about the next step. Ya know? Not thinking of high school as a path to college but rather thinking about everyday as a learning experience around a long-term career," Bertram said.
