GOP United States Representative Brett Guthrie has filed for re-election for the 2018 race for the House.

The Bluegrass Republican was first elected from Kentucky's 2nd Congressional District in 2008. He then was re-elected in 2010, 2012, and 2014. The district covers some of the western and central parts of the state, including in Bowling Green.

Rep. Guthrie has more than $2 million for his campaign, according to the Federal Election Commision.

Two Kentucky Democrats have also filed for the seats: Brian Pedigo, of Glasgow, and Grant Short, of Owensboro.

Filing deadline is January 30, at 4:30pm next year.
