SKYCTC launches new program to help number one workforce need
The South Central Kentucky Workforce Solutions Department is teaming up with colleges and high schools to make sure students with varied interests can reach their goals.
Franklin-Simpson SKYCTC announced a new course being offered Tuesday, that they say is much needed.
The Commercial Driver's License Program has been launched to help the number one workforce need - truck drivers.
"There is the need for CDL drivers," said Vice President of Outreach and Community Development, Dr. James McCaslin. "It's one thing for us to be able to manufacture the good and services, but we need to be able to have them delivered, too."
Creating the CDL Program is an extension of SKYCTC's ongoing workforce training.
This is a 4 week course and costs $4,000. SKYCTC is solidifying the course in hopes to have students enroll by next spring.
