Salvation Army prepares to provide Hurricane Florence disaster relief
Bowling Green's Salvation Army is preparing for a possible call that would send them to the Carolinas for hurricane disaster relief.
The team may not receive the call, but they are preparing with lots of water and some non-perishable food items.
Several volunteers are on stand-by to be ready to roll if the call comes in the coming days.
They say that even though the call may not come, they're continuing to prepare their disaster services canteen.
"If they need it to be stocked if it needs to come empty, you know, they'll give us some instructions," said Major Stephen Story. "We'll take care of getting those things together whether it's just getting ourselves ready and going, or it's getting ourselves ready and our equipment ready,"
The Salvation Army is collecting donations and asks for your help. They're currently not accepting supply donations, but are asking for monetary donations in form of cash or check instead.
