A Scottsville woman will be inducted into the Kentucky Veteran’s Hall of Fame.

Krystol Stinson was elected as part of the Class of 2016 on Sept. 17 in Frankfort.

Stinson, a 20 year U.S. Navy vet, works as the outreach coordinator for Western Kentucky University’s Veterans Upward Bound project, joining the VUB staff in 2013.

“We are very proud of Krystol,” said VUB Counselor Rick Wright. “Nobody is more deserving of this honor. She is a true patriot and a great American who loves her country and her state very much.”

Each year, numerous Kentucky military veterans are awarded the “Hall of Fame Medallion” recognizing their service to both the nation and to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

“It is very fitting that Krystol has been elected to the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame,” Wright said. “She has helped hundreds of veterans in southern Kentucky in many ways since she first joined the VUB staff. It’s nice to see her get some recognition for her service and her sacrifices.”

The Veterans Upward Bound program has helped more than 2,000 student veterans go to college since coming to WKU in 1992.
