Simpson County Deputy shot in Franklin

A source close to the situation tells WBKO Sgt. Lawson has been taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he is in stable condition.
Sources also tell us shortly after Lawson was shot with a handgun, he was heard over scanner traffic yelling "I've been shot" multiple times.

According to KSP, a deputy went to serve a warrant in Franklin city limits.
The suspect shot the deputy and the deputy returned fire hitting the suspect, who fled from the scene.
KSP says the suspect is now in custody and being taken to the hospital.
The deputy was taken to a Nashville hospital.

Reports say the suspect was shot and taken into custody near Simpson County Tire.
The suspect was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Nearby schools had locked their doors for a short time and were in contact with the Franklin Police Department for the duration of the incident.
Details are sketchy, but WBKO has been told Simpson County Deputy Eddie Lawson was shot in Franklin around 3:00 p.m. Thursday.
The shooter is believed to be Ben Wyatt, who is said to be holed up in a vacant building behind the Frosty Freeze in Franklin.
