Simpson County Sheriff's Office searching for missing man after finding submerged car

FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Simpson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man missing out of Tennessee after his car was found submerged in flood water.

SCSO received a call Tuesday morning about the car, and after towing it out they found that it belonged to Durrone Vernon Moore, who was reported missing from Gallatin.

According to the Gallatin Police Department, Moore's girlfriend contacted them after receiving a call from him on Monday night where he was screaming and saying he was trapped in a river somewhere and could not get out.

SCSO said multiple searches have been made in the water and surrounding area for Moore and they are continuing their search.
