South Central Kentuckians gather around man with rare form of cancer
South Central Kentuckians are gathering around a Glasgow man with a rare cancer.
Spenser Bradley, a former WKU cheerleader, was diagnosed with Renal Medullary Carcinoma, a type of cancer that affects African-Americans who have the sickle cell trait.
Former teammates, family and friends rallied Sunday night at Crossland Community Church to pray, dance and show support.
Bradley says it's been overwhelming.
"Just all the love and support, the thoughts and the prayers from everybody. It's unbelievable. The community that I have around me, I know that I'm not in this alone."
Wrist bands, car decals and t-shirts are all being sold to raise money for Spenser. There will also be a raffle drawing on his birthday, which is August 20th.
