United Way of Southern Kentucky wants furloughed federal employees and government contractors in need of social services to be aware there help is available.

Southern Kentucky 2-1-1 services can help those in need connect to food pantries, health care services, utility payment assistance, and information on eviction prevention.

2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information service that connects people in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Hart, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren Counties to a trained Call Specialist who can help find local health and human services. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
