BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (WBKO) -- The inaugural Special Needs Expo was held in the Knicely Center for people with disabilities to get information on essential resources.
Vendors from across South Central Kentucky were able to offer tips and services in several different categories like health and wellness, education and recreation.
Smiles filled the conference center as the special needs community was able to receive information and spread awareness.
"This was an event that was not only for the small ones, it was for any age and it was just an opportunity to come together and celebrate and I think we achieved the goal today," says Shannon Sales, an organizer with WKU.
Sales said the turnout was great and they plan on hosting the event annually for many years. She added that they expect to grow even more when the expo returns in 2019.
