TRAFFIC ALERT: Crash on I-65 northbound near mile marker 97
UPDATE - 5 p.m.
"Left and middle lanes are open. Right lane still closed for additional cleanup and removal. The detour is discontinued. Traffic remains heavy and delays are still expected. Motorists should continue to consider an alternate route for the next few hours to avoid congestion."
KYTC-D04 has posted the following update:
"Currently, the queue between the incident at MM 97 back to Exit 94 is slowly being diverted around the semi using one lane. All other northbound I65 traffic is being detoured at the Bluegrass Parkway interchange, just before Exit 94. Alternate I65 route signs are in place to help direct motorists to rejoin I65 at Lebanon Junction.
With traffic currently backed up approximately four miles from the Exit 94 detour, we urge motorists approaching the region to consider using US 31W to KY 313 and rejoin I65 at the Exit 103 interchange or to utilize US 31E toward Louisville. Northbound travelers should implement an alternate route prior to reaching Elizabethtown to avoid extreme delays.
Crews are still working to upright the semi and patch damaged pavement. Closure will likely last another 2-3 hours.
Updates will continue to be posted."
