Tactical training takes place on WKU's campus
The Bowling Green Police Department have taken advantage of the empty Western Kentucky University campus for tactical training for building searches.
Bowling Green Police Officer Ronnie Ward says training in the empty McCormack Hall helps keep the officers and EMS crew sharp and ready to go during any circumstance.
"They go from room to room and floor to floor so they can develop training aspects, training plans and programs for buildings such as this," Officer Ward stated.
Along with the Bowling Green Police Department and EMS, the Medical Center has also included paramedics in the training.
Officer Ward also stated that all possible situations are now covered If the Bowling Green Police, EMS and paramedics ever need to use the tactics during real situations.
