The accident happened on the corner of Veterans Memorial Highway and Gordon Avenue in Bowling Green. The driver of the truck, Zachary Toney, said he was turning left onto Veterans when he "cut it too sharp" and crashed into the bus.
Police say Toney's license was suspended, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was sweating profusely. Police asked him to take a field sobriety test and he showed signs of impairment. Police also found a bag with a white substance in it and a syringe.
Toney was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs, Operating a Vehicle on a Suspended or Revoked Operator's License, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
