WATCH: Warren County Sheriff's Department investigating home invasion shooting
The Warren County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
It happened just before midnight at a home in the Country-Living Estates Mobile Home Park.
Home security video shows the moment it happened.
"During the video you can see that it looks like there was four individuals that kicked the door in, as they approached his bedroom he exchanged fire with them," said Warren County Sheriff, Brett Hightower.
Law enforcement told 13 News 24-year-old Austin Orwig was inside the home asleep when the suspects entered the home.
Hightower said several shots were fired before the suspects ran from the scene.
"We don't know if any of the suspects were injured as well, but the resident himself was taken here locally and then transferred to a Louisville hospital," said Hightower.
Police said Orwig was flown to Jewish Hospital in Louisville to be treated for the injuries to his right hand and has since been released.
Hightower hopes the video will help his department find those responsible. Since posting the video to Facebook the Warren County Sheriff's Department has received several tips and they are working to follow up on those leads.
"It kind of plays into with what the mindset of those individuals was when they forcibly made entry into somebody's home, came in there armed, and attempting to locate somebody and exchanging gunfire with them and shooting somebody it's invaluable to have that type of video footage," said Hightower.
Hightower said the suspects seen in the video could face possible charges of attempted murder and first-degree burglary.
