WKU celebrates first home game with free Cage The Elephant concert
WKU celebrated their first home game of the season with a free Cage The Elephant concert.
The concert had been a plan for over a year through a series of tweets between President Caboni and the band.
"It started on twitter, they said they wanted to come, we said were going to make it happen and we worked for a year to make this happen and they've been so amazing, they are great sons of bowling green and great friends of the university and WKU and I'll tell you what we had the best pregame in the entire country today right here at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green," said Tim Caboni, WKU President
Caboni said the concert and pregame activities Saturday were amazing.
"You know you have special moments in your career and your life and this is right up in the top for me and I hope these young people remember this and remember WKU long after this is over, " said Caboni.
The WKU Alumni Association had a large tent set up with food and beverages near the concert and right across from the football stadium prior to the game.
"This is the first home game of the season and it is great. This crowd is outstanding, the community has come out to support WKU and we're proud to be a part of it," said Greg Keightley, Director WKU Alumni Relations.
